Our client is a venture-backed deep-tech company building next-generation sensing systems that combine advanced optics with AI. The technology turns light into structured, actionable information and is designed to generate deeper insight than traditional imaging approaches. Initial applications are focused on biology, microscopy, drug discovery, and advanced research workflows. The company operates in a hands-on, fast-moving R&D environment where optical systems, machine learning, and experimental science come together. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to work close to the core technology, take ownership early, and help shape a platform with significant potential across life sciences and advanced sensing markets.
Optical Lab Technician – AI-Driven Optical Sensing, Microscopy & Photonics R&D
Your Mission
You will join a creative, technically ambitious environment with talented teammates and direct exposure to cutting-edge optical sensing and AI-driven technology. You can expect a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. The role gives you the chance to work hands-on with advanced optical systems and contribute to technology that may change how complex biological and physical environments are measured and understood. This is a strong fit for someone who wants more ownership, faster learning, and a broader technical scope than a traditional lab technician role usually offers.
What You Bring
You have a bachelor’s degree in physics, optics, photonics, engineering, or a related technical field and at least two years of experience in an optical lab, either in industry or through strong academic lab work. You are confident with optical assembly, alignment, microscopy imaging, optomechanical setups, calibration, and experimental troubleshooting. Experience with motorized precision motion stages, lab automation, microscopy slides, biological samples, or imaging workflows is highly relevant. Programming skills in Python or MATLAB are a strong plus, especially if you have used them for lab automation, data collection, or experimental analysis. You are detail-oriented, practical, communicative, flexible, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where requirements can evolve quickly.
